Our presence as the first Colibri Spa has humble beginnings. Read on to learn more about who we are and how we started.

Lena and John met in 2016. Lena is a highly skilled Master Esthetician from Eastern Europe and an expert at her work. She takes great pride in every service she provides. She loves to work with clients and is friendly and fun to be with. Lena enjoys studying and learning all the latest technology in the beauty and spa industry.

John is a former marine scientist who now dedicates his time to their new spa in Sarasota. He has worked for many years with State and Federal agencies, and most recently with Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota. John loves to work with people. He enjoys helping others – motivating them to achieve their goals and dreams.

In 2018, John and Lena had a vision of creating a beautiful full-service spa in Sarasota. They were determined and aware of the need for a great quality spa in the area. After years of detailed business planning and a search for the perfect location, they opened their first spa at 3590 S Tamiami Trail in May 2020.

Colibri Day Spa is nestled in a beautiful and serene location – surrounded by towering oak trees and adjacent to Phillippi Creek. You will feel a sense of great peace when you enter the spa. The building has a Florida Keys style look, with plenty of free parking. Our spa is Jade Green with a beautiful white porch.
